It was a great weekend at the market ~ thanks for stopping by!

Do you have this in any other sizes, I heard from my back room. I turned around and started to laugh. Just how many people can fit back there, I thought to myself!! It was a pleasant surprise to see at least six customers, plus one in the dressing room! This spring I thought I was so smart and had rearranged my shoppe so tastefully to accommodate almost any crowd! Well, my apologies, and thanks for putting up with the tight quarters! I hope you all found what you were looking for, I know you did! I hope you will come back for another great shopping experience at KittyKelli's QVC Clothing outlet!

It's a sure sign of summer when the produce starts coming out, especially the first crop of ripe summer strawberries!! Don't these look wonderful!

These didn't last long on this vendor's table! I'm sure they didn't last long on the dinner table either! Hopefully there will be more this coming weekend, the forecast looks good, for shopping and berry ripening!

The market is always a great place for making memories, I think Ardy would agree! Her daughter, Kirsten, and family, made the trip home from Germany again, just in time for the 4th of July celebration!! I caught up with Ardy and grandaughter Mason, having a special breakfast Sunday morning, making special memories and sharing a quiet moment! Kendall and Mason always add a special flair to the flea market! Make sure you stop and say hi and check out their wares!

As always, THANKS for coming out to Shady Hollow and making it such a great place to be!!

THE HALFWAY MARK......

Well, our two day market was a success! Lots of additional vendors came to set up for the two day event! The three day 4th of July market is vastly approaching, with lots of fun and surprises in the making!!

As I looked at the calendar today, I counted out the remaining market days, which I know I shouldn't do, but couldn't resist! I think the market must be at its halfway point, with nine weekends remaining.......hard to believe! Where does the time go? It doesn't even seem like we have had summer yet, we haven't!! There are still so many great finds at the flea market, and I still have some great Proven Winner plants in four inch pots available for sale!
As always, I have great pictures to post, but wanted to get some words in edgewise! There are always new vendors with new wares setting up, I suggest you come out and take a look! Pictures never seem to do any merchandise justice!! It always seems with the 4th of July holiday we see a variety of new vendors. I hope you can make it out to the market to check out these new setups!
Check back over the weekend for updated pictures and information on the upcoming 4th of July weekend!! Hope to see you this Sunday!!

ANOTHER GREAT WEEKEND!

Even though the temps weren't soaring, there always seems to be a demand for Snow Cones!! I don't know about you, but there's just something about shaved ice with flavor! I think my favorite is the blue raspberry, but there are so many, it's hard to decide! I had a "taste" of lime today, that was mighty tasty too! I think there's a bubblegum flavor as well, I should probably get the flavor run down for you, that way you can be prepared before you get in line! I'll check with Angela and Spencer on that! Don't these cones look great? Something to reflect on when and if the temps get into the 90's!!!! Check back next week for the secrets of Cotton Candy!!

Thanks for spending another great Sunday with us at Shady Hollow! Lots of great things to see and eat, as usual! There was an abundance of great flowers to finish off those planters and flower beds that might need a spot of color, thanks to Lori of Glyndon, among other floral vendors that also made it out! We haven't had much of a growing season yet, but you wait, we'll hit the 80's yet this growing season!! Plus prices at $1.50 a four inch pot for Proven Winners, how can you go wrong?!!! THANKS LORI!!!

One of our favorite caricaturists was back as well. I even caught Bracken, from Cotton Lake Tile, taking a short break and getting his likeness sketched! We'll have to make sure we stop by to see how it turned out and how he has it displayed in his shoppe!!

CHANCE MEETINGS!

(Uncle Ray, KittyKelli, My Dad)
Well, the opportunities for making memories and having chance meetings just keep on coming! This Sunday my dad happened by with my uncle, Ray, from Alabama! What a surprise and a treat to see them both! Uncle Ray has apparently been trying to adjust to our cold Minnesota weather and has been wearing some type of parka! He arrived in Minnesota Wednesday night and will be here for another week or so, so I hope our weather shapes up to give him a nice welcome!
I hope you enjoyed your time at Shady Hollow and the great State of Minnesota and found some great deals as well!

UPCOMING WEEKEND.......

As I drove to the market Friday night, in an effort to get things ready for the upcoming market on Sunday, much to my surprise, there off to the right was the much awaited Shady Hollow billboard!! It's great! I knew it was going to be, well, breathtaking! Yes, it's just a billboard, but a lot of work and effort went into the planning to get this vinyl wrapped wonder up! I think people were actually starting to doubt if I had really placed an order for it, but yep, there it is, bigger than life!! I think it adds so much to the mighty oaks it's nestled amongst!! I hate to tip people off, but watch for it on your way to the market! That way you know you're almost there!! You'll have to let me know which roadway it's on, I can't give away all the details!!
On a personal note, I would like to thank those vendors who contributed to this endeavor. A lot of planning and team work went into this billboard and I for one, think our efforts paid off! A big THANK YOU from me!!
See you this weekend!

A LOOK AHEAD...

It seems there is always something new and upcoming at Shady Hollow. In closing this weekend, I want to remind you of the first upcoming two day weekend! It is just three weekends away and will take place Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22. If you know of someone that is contemplating setting up, mention this to them...this two day weekend would be a great opportunity to give Shady Hollow a try! Or, for you to make a weekend to come to the Lakes for a great two day market and hopefully we'll have some warm weather to get the lake temperatures up there for some boating fun too!

STITCHES IN TIME

Julia has been a shoppe owner at Shady Hollow for many years. She has great handmade clothing and accessories and invites you to stop by and say hi! She is located in the north row of buildings and can't be missed with her great smile and personality!

SECOND WEEKEND

The second weekend again brought some surprise visitors! It's getting to be a common occurrence! Again, I hope your flea market experience brought you some special memories and special market finds! I am pictured here with Hope and Rand, originally from Audubon, who happened by Dani's Honey, which is next to me. Luckily I had my camera ready just for the occasion! Thanks for coming out to the flea market and spending the day with all of us!

I was also able to roam about the set-up field and talk to some of the shoppers. I met up with these two fine young lads, actually ran into them down every row!! Although they hadn't found their treasure yet, they did tell me they were "good at bs'n and drinking coffee"! They were good shoppers and a treasure trove themselves. Good sports about having their picture taken so early in the morning!! If I didn't have a shop to run, I'm sure they would have been great fun to hang out with for the duration of the flea market! If you see them out roaming, drinking coffee and bs'n, make sure you say hi and mention you saw them on the flea market blog!!

Shortly after noon I happened to glance out my window and noticed Don Trieglaff pondering the day.........well, I had to go out and see exactly what it was he was having such difficulty in deciding! Actually, Dar was nearby to keep him on the straight and narrow! I never did get to the bottom if it, I think he may have been taking a nap with his eyes open!! You may know the Treiglaff's from the Frazee area, but they frequent Shady Hollow quite often. Again, say hi if you see them happen by, they have been business owners in the area for many areas, and I for one know they don't bite!! Don currently has a couple business ventures going I'm sure he'd love to talk to you about! Thanks Don and Dar for coming to Shady Hollow!!

WEEKEND TWO...

Some great pink depression to add to your collection! What a great find!

We missed you this second weekend at the flea!! It was a beautiful weekend, weather wise, and there were lots of great finds! Additional new vendors were here showing off their wares, along with some of our favorites! And, of course, lots of good food as well! I'll share some of the pictures again this week, just to show what you missed!!

The McMahon's returned with some great depression glass and Fiesta on their tables. If you weren't the early bird, much of it was gone by day's end! Rest assured, they'll be back with another table full for your choosing! Great colors for any of today's kitchen!!

The lines always seem to be long at the food vendors, I guess who could resist a great hamburger, which are actually being grilled and not fried this year, topped with cheese, bacon and all the fixings! This Sunday the temperatures were also great for a snow cone, blue raspberry would be my choice!! And again, who could pass up a baker's dozen of Lil' Orbits????

I hope you will make it out next week for some great weather, fun and frivolity!
