VENDOR APPRECIATION

A special thanks to all the vendors and shoppe owners who bring us the great finds throughout the weeks at Shady Hollow!

We appreciate you coming to the Market every weekend and setting up and sharing with us!

Hope to see you next weekend and at the next vendor picnic over the long Fourth of July weekend! Remember the Kiddie Parade too!

GRAMPA'S TREATS

A fair favorite has arrived at the Market! These are not your ordinary "dogs"!! These are a hand-dipped variety and made on site! Whether you eat yours with ketchup or mustard, this is a crowd pleaser!

Each dog is individually hand-dipped and fried to a perfect golden crisp! Couldn't you just go for one, or two now! We only have a few short months to get your fix of these great wonders! Who could pass up such a tasty treat!

YUM!!! The finished product..........

Grampa's also has 12 flavors of Hawaiian Ice, as well as the popular Lil' Orbits mini donuts to round out a great lunch and afternoon snack! (They also make an awesome breakfast!!)
Well worth the wait!!

PAPA DIO'S

There's some fabulous cooking going on at the Market! If you're not hungry by this time, well, there just might be something wrong with you!

From beef brisket, home style fries, Frito Pie, hand pattied hamburgers, Papa Dio's is certainly going to win you over! If you're on the go, start your day off with a breakfast taco, your choice, eggs and potatoes, eggs and charizo, or eggs and bacon, (did I mention the handmade tortilla??) the price is right, you might just want to try all three...but make sure you leave room for lunch, or an afternoon snack!!

Stop by and welcome the Mirandas to the Market and enjoy some excellent home cooking!

PATINA WHITE

Always a favorite stop at the Market, Beth is back again this year with Patina White. You will always find truly unique selection of "less than serious goods for self, soul & surroundings". In particular, I love the signage she always carries, the "Eat" sign was gone by the time I got back, so if you ever see one wandering about, let me know, I want it!!!

Patina White also features an amazing array of whimsical wearables ranging from artisan collage charm jewelry to bracelets and necklaces fabricated from vintage typewriter keys. You'll find junkyard art to enchant your home & garden plus off beat gifts thoughtfully created & gathered for all occasions! a must see at the market! Also be inspired & informed by her website~www.patinawhite.com...happy day!

IN THE THICKETS

Well, if you're like me and don't have much of your gardening done, you're in luck!!

Lori is back with her daughters and selling her Proven Winners again! And boy are they healthy and full of blooms! I'm not sure where you would find Proven Winners at such a good price, either! Four inch pots of all your favorites for just $3.00, or four for $10.00, even cheaper if you buy an entire flat of 15 for $30.00.........I'll let you do the math on that one!!

As far as I know, when they pulled out last Sunday, their plan was to come back again this Sunday, so get your plans laid out and figure out how many planters you have left to fill! These always sell fast, especially the favorites.....come early to get what you need! The growing season is short and she only has so many to sell!

FABULOUS FINDS.....

It goes without saying, there's always a good "find" at the flea....gas is one of them. Gas is always a good buy at the market, it was down to $1.11 for regular over the opening weekend, I filled up twice over the long weekend.....I hope it stays that cheap over the summer months........(just kidding, only the sign was cheap...doubt we'll see gas at these prices again, but we can wish!)

The weather was perfect, even Monday turned out exceptionally nice, sorry to say, for those of you that left early! As it turned out, not that much rain fell after all!!

There were fabulous finds for everyone! I spied quite a bit of advertising around the grounds.

Tom apparently can't wait for hunting season, so he's doing a little early hunting, at the Market! There was actually a pair of these antlers, you'll have to check with Tom to see if he took this pair home..........I think some tall tales might have been told at this booth....

THE LINE UP.....

By mid morning on Friday, the entry line had already formed for vendors. I thought I would take a walk over and see just how many people had lined up! There were a good 25 to 30 vendors in line, a good sign for a three day weekend at Shady Hollow!

All were very patiently waiting in line for the gate keeper to let them in and set up their wares!! By 3:30 the line had grown considerably, as did some vendor's patience!

TIME FOR CHANGE

About a week to go before the flea market opens for the season and there continues to be changes made! Not only are there new vendors, a new permaenent building, but there will be no more food bus and, no more booths to sit in! No need to worry.... there will be plenty of picnic tables and the bus will be replaced with a wonderful concession stand, Grampa's Treats, operated by Grant, Logan and Brock Langerud, bringing us such treats as the wonderful mini donuts, cotton candy, 12 flavors of Hawaiin Ice, and YES!!!!! hand dipped corn dogs!! Won't that be a tasty treat!!!

I think we'll all agree these will be some welcome changes (well, for the most part anyway!) I for one can't wait for Grampa's Treats to set up shop and might be one of the first in line to sample a steaming, hot corn dog right from the fryer, and maybe chase it down with a dozen mini donuts - can anyone say YUM!!!!

Shhhhhhh.....rumor has it they may be ready to serve Friday night, might be worth a drive by to check it out!
